Milhous Company

Milhous Company purchases EMF product from Areva NP Inc., a world leader in the design and construction of nuclear power plants. Milhous Company had been the prime vendor to Areva for over 25 years in support of the EMF production. Areva’s desire to focus on designing and building nuclear power plants led to their selling the successful EMF system to a company familiar with the EMF, its customer base and one capable of growing the business line.

Sandia National Laboratories “Coil Gun” featured on discovery channel’s Future Weapons program with Sandia weapons program director Dr. Bob Thurman and project manager Ronald Kaye explaining how the new weapon works and the role magnet coils produced by Milhous Company played.

Milhous Company is awarded the contract from Fermi National Laboratory to build 780 booster coils for Booster Corrector Magnets to be used in their proton source accelerator. The year long project is part of an overall upgrade to the Proton Plan accelerator and will replace magnets that have been in operation for many years. These magnets will improve the performance of the accelerator to enhance the physics program at Fermilab.

Milhous Company is awarded a contract with Sandia National Laboratories for fabrication and testing of electrical coils for new classified “Coil Gun “weapon. The project is for 14 months and will entail production of an amount of cutting edge technology coils that push the limits of existing coil designs.
